Ash: very hard and very heavy wood, colored heartwood in older trees, gray-brown, more often straw, light pink and light yellow. The grain pattern is clear, wavy and with a deep natural gloss. Extremely mechanically strong, resilient and resistant to large deformations. Traditionally used for skis, bows, sports equipment, tools and wooden components under heavy load. Unprotected and outside, not very resistant to moisture and biological corrosion. The light color and clear pattern blends well with Elm and light coniferous wood with clear grain.
