Larch: medium-hard, heavy, coniferous wood, broad heartwood, red-brown, light sapwood, clear stripes of grain, darkens with time. Very resinous, with lenses and crevices from which the resin leaks for long time. Extremely durable outside, resistant to moisture. Stable, does not crack and warp. As for coniferous wood, it is hard and has good mechanical properties. Due to the resin, it stains badly. Susceptible to brushing. Traditionally used for structural elements in constructions of higher standards. The grain and color match best with Pine and other conifers, the warm reddish color goes well with Cherry. It has an intense, pleasant resinous smell.
